Rather than start a new discussion I'll just add it here. I just started using Vanilla last week - I can't believe what a mind bogglingly useful thing this is. It's like a dream come true for a minimalist like myself -, by far the best forum option out there by leaps and bounds. Its simplicity and easy of use, small footprint and elegant design just amaze.
I liked Vanilla so much I threw out all my old forum postings, users etc. rather than even dream of importing that garbage in to the new system. I just absolutely love this and can't wait for the next revision with RSS (the only thing I miss).
I have always hated and been disgusted with the current forum scheme of such programs as PHPBB and Vbulletin. It reminds me Yahoos attempt in the early days of categorizing the Internet, and Googles counter to search it instead. Vanilla is to forums as Google's was to searching.
Many thanks to all those who work on and contribute to this project - you didn't think outside the box, you threw the box away.
You COULD have imported all the data (I am sure the threads/ discussions were of some value, not the mention the users)! Not to worry. Welcome to Vanilla.
Thanks all for your kind comments :) I have seen and used Vanilla for some months but forgot to register at these forums I think. (Maybe I have a other profile here but don't think so) anyway. Vanilla is so cool :D Keep up the good work! Vanilla is so perfect and not "overfunctional" as many other forums are.
