Ok, So I'm using the add-on for different forum colours, now I have a red colour for my announcement forum which I really want to keep only for adins to post announcements in. Is there any way to set permissions that the only users able to post in it are admins? Yet all users can read and view it?

I thought I came accross a way to do it, but it stops the members from viewing topics in it as well, instead of just cutting out their posting ability.

how about sticky then close it?, on my forum admins can post even in closed discussions so it should work.

Yeah but then members can still post discussions with the special category colour. Thats what I want to stop.

Vanilla sets all permissions globally, so I think you'll want some kind of new permissions extension, the colour changer just adds colours to categories, it doesn't do anything with permissions.
