I had a very weird problem after installing the new Vanilla: after upgrading, I was denied access to the settings files in the conf folder. I had chmoded it to 777, but once the new settings files were created, the user for the files was set to httpd.

I found a way around it, by backing up the files, then deleting the folder and uploading it again. It's working very smoothly now, but I'm still curious as to why this happened. Has anyone else had this problem?

(Not sure if this is relevant, but when I upgraded I deleted all the old files except those in the extensions folder and then uploaded the new files. I've kept the old database though.)

Gah! I saw that thread already but I never noticed that comment.

Inky writes "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!" on a post-it and slaps it on his forehead.

Maybe in forums of the future, there will be a live search as you type a new comment, that looks for similar ones and lists them in the sidebar... before you post!

Think I did already. Nah actually I think it was another stupid one "who else is currently writing a comment"
