I see that a lot of you are coming up with new ideas for products or upgrades. I figured that I'd let you in on what I've got planned next for Lussumo.
1. I am going to finish the documentation for Vanilla. I figure that if I do at least one page a day, I should be able to get it finished within two weeks. 2. Aside from any critical bugs that come up, I plan on taking a break from Vanilla for a while. 3. Make money. Of course I have contracts I've been doing while developing Vanilla (in my spare time), but I plan on taking my post-vanilla-release spare time and working on a money-making application of some kind. I like open-source and all, but I want to build a sellable product or service of some kind. I have an idea, and if I do it, you guys will probably never see it (it would be a local business, but run online).
I've had a lot of cool open-source ideas over the last few months, and I've put them on the backburner so I could finish Vanilla. I've got an idea for a new type of wiki, and I've got a new service that I *will* be working on with my good buddy sugati: a reworking of the already neato (But a little outdated) yokeman.com.
But yeah - #1 on my list is a product or service that I can make money from so I can possibly stop working on contracts and start doing my own development full-time.
a cms WITH a CVS. And why not instead just use vanilla as a baseboard for all the upcoming projects. You've made it extensible thus far, I'm sure you can push it further and make it even more expandable as a proper framework :D
