How scalable is Vanilla? Apart from this one, does anyone know of the largest vanilla forum going? At what point does performance start to degrade?

I currently run vanilla on a smaller site of mine and after upgrading to 1.01 I am absolutely in my element. GREAT work Mark (And all the add-on developers)!
I am starting to think about converting another of my larger VB forums over to Vanilla. I know it will be a big change, but in the long run, I'd prefer it. (Due to the nature of the forum).

I know there is a (Non-definitive) list of Vanilla forums in a thread here, but can someone point me in the direction of some large ones?
Would also like to see some really cool custom work or unusual uses for vanilla.

    Cheers
    Dave

There are a few discussions about this, I believe. here and here at least. In the second discussion, Mark says that a comment search on 430,000 comments takes 0.4 seconds, and that's from November last year, he might have improved things even more.

I have a vague memory of someone trying Vanilla with a lot of users, and being happy with the results, but I haven't been able to find it so far.
