Mark, the new updater in Vanilla 1.1 does not seem to work in Apple's Safari - at least, it does not work in my configuration. Safari does not even display the spinning arrows. Is anyone experiencing the same problem?

If I access the forum using Firefox, the updater works as it should - so it seems to me to be some incompatibility between Safari and the new code.

@Mark: I think the problem here may be the caching in Safari, as you describe in <a href="http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/5699/vanilla-11x-safari/#Item_3">this discussion</a>.

After reading your posting there, I quit Safari, then re-launched it with a blank window. I then immediately emptied the cache, and only then, accessed the forum again. Now it all seems to work.
