    thanks stash - 0.5.1 seems to work fine
  2.  # 104
    since this is a WIP whilst it's under repair I'd like to request a new permissions feature.

    I would like to only allow certain roles from being able to use this, and I understand that roles and permission is quite easy to add - so there's no harm in asking.
  3.  # 105
    Thanks Stash, 0.5.1 works the best for me.

    Good feature request conrad. But how about changing it to simply allowing users to disable it if they want? Since it is client side I can't see the harm in allowing people to use it.

    I was also having issues with 0.5.2 not working. Specifically, YouTube and MySpace weren't being converted from the links.

    I installed 0.5.1 and everything works again.

    here's an interesting issue

    http://youchewpoop.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=2623&page=1#Item_1

    when someone quotes the enclosure it seems to call some kind of missing image link - I'm sure it's just a simple tweak

    any idea?

    I have "forced bbcode" installed and I can't post YouTube videos. Any idea how to fix this?

    One way is to use BBCodeParser and use the [youtube][/youtube] tag ;) I know that's not exactly the answer you're looking for, but I don't have that :D

    Too bad. I really like the simplicity of the "forced BBCode" add-on. It would be awesome if the JQMedia plugin worked with it.
  5.  # 114
    JQMedia works by replacing html a href tags with embed code, as far as i can tell, so i think it should probably work. maybe.
    How were you trying to post youtube videos?

    All kinds of ways: using the <a> tags, using [a] tags, using [youtube] tags... nothing seems to work.
  6.  # 116
    Anything which results in a working link on the output aught to work (i think). Does the jqmedia extension work if you use the html formatter?

    Hmm... i must have turned that html option off somewhere a long time ago... don't find where I did it :) Still looking.
  7.  # 118
    It's an extension you know?
  8.  # 119
    You'd need to download and install the HTML Formatter from http://lussumo.com/addons/index.php?PostBackAction=AddOn&AddOnID=33 in order to try using a standard html link in association with JQMedia and see whether it's an issue with JQM or BBCode.

    IIRC Forced BBCode doesn't have any video support. Might want to take a look at either BBCodeParser and the unofficial 0.1.9 release I did for the insert bar and modify up ForcedBBCode along those lines. I'm sorry but I just don't have time to do it for you, but all the code's there.

    what on earth is all that stuff in the playlist.xml file?

    looks like adverts for other sites and podcasts - is there any way to check if it calling home to anywhere?

    For compatibility with the current JQuery extension, please can this be added after line 63? includeJQuery(); // call JQuery to ensure it's loaded first
  10.  # 123
    wow, lot of people having problem with it. Now you know why this is a bad solution and why it should all be done via HtmlFormatter

    I guess instead of looking for www.youtube.com. I should just look for xx.youtube.com
    does anyone know of any potential security risk with using xx.youtube.com

    playlist.xml is a sample xml file thats all.

    btw who is updating this extension?

    oh dear

    I seem to have lost youtube functionality again. I'm not sure if it was due to updating to vanilla 1.1.3 or updating jquery to v14-1.2.1
    I've tried both the latest version of this and 0.5.1 (which fixed the trick last time).

    thanks

    edited: I have a theory thit it is connected to something in js folder - were there any big changes in there, I'm going to try restoring the js folder only from the previous version to see that fixes it.

    Another small bug - it recognize files with ext. .mp3, but not a .MP3
  11.  # 127
    I"m sorry to bump this but it's quite important to me/my community to get this one back in action so I'd really appreciate some suggestions of things I could try to resolve this and get it back in action

    to recap: it's dead since I upgraded vanilla

    thanks
  12.  # 128
    updating to latest version of jquery will definetly break the extension.
    new version of jquery has made lot of changes to the core.
  13.  # 129
    downgrading jquery and jqmedia back to their earlier versions but that doen't seem to have worked.

    Any idea how this can be resolved? Given that my website is based on promoting and sharing videos it's quite an important feature to me :(

    @bytte what ur website.
    all bbcode is eventually converted to a <a> tag, so it should work with anything.
    [a] tag isn't in bbcode u have to use [url] tag
    ur bbcode extension should convert a [youtube] tag to html.

    My website is at http://www.semtexinc.com/forum/
    I've tried using [youtube] tags, but it doesn't work. Also [url] or [a] doesn't do it.
    Thanks for getting back to my post!
  18.  # 137
    that's MySchizoBuddy for you help thus far - I've tried adding the snippet of code above but still no joy.

    Let me get this straight though, includeJQuery(); should go between

    var mediaplayer = jqmediaPath.webRoot + 'extensions/JQMedia/mediaplayer.swf';

    var embedParam = {

    in JQmedia.js

    is that correct?
    sorry I missed that before but i assumed it was in relation to the bbcode issue
  19.  # 138
    hell no, problem is not in jqmedia. its in jquery extension.
    check the default.php of the jquery extension
    and add includeJQuery at the bottom of the whole code right before the ?> tag
  20.  # 139
    yes!

    a very big thank you to you - amazing how one line of code (in the right place) can make all the difference.

    My videos work but the mp3 player doesn't appear.

    embed width="200" height="20"
    pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/
    download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars="/path/to/mp3/xxx"
    src="falseextensions/JQMedia/mediaplayer.swf" wmode="transparent"

    When I inspect it it apears as if the path of the src of the gets a "false" added in. HELP!
  21.  # 142
    Are you using Lowcal vanilla extensions that compresses all javascript files.
    its the same problem rising again. we don't yet have a good solution to the path problem.

    Its strange because I've had the same setup for months now and just recently did this start happening.

    The extensions I have running are:

    AccountPictures
    AddComments
    AjaxQuote
    AppicantEmailVerification
    BetterBBCode
    DiscussionFilters
    DiscussionPages
    GoogleAnalytics
    JQMedia
    JQuery
    NewsMailer
    Nuggets
    PageManager
    ParticipatedThreads
    PreviewPost
    Signatures
    Statistics
  23.  # 145
    Its this line that is creating problems
    qmediaPath.webRoot = jqmediaPath.getRootPath('script', 'src', 'js/global.js');
    its returning false cause it cannot find the global.js file

    It should work with:
    qmediaPath.getRootPath('link', 'href', /themes\/.*\/styles\/.*\/vanilla.css/)
    qmediaPath.getRootPath('a', 'href', /people\.php.*$/);
