There is a function on thestudentroom.co.uk which I like. You can click and join societies on the forum. These are like little groups (threads).

I guess it's like a bookmarking thing which then display's in you're profile and say's you're a member of it and when you click on it, it just takes you to the discussion.

These 'discussions'/'Societies' are just subscribeable/bookmarkable in a particular category. (most likely named 'societies'.

Kind of not-life-saving feature but it's a nice little addon.

If you create a category for a society you will soon end up with thousands of categories which will be hard to manage without sub-cat addon.

But a society is basically a discussion.
