    I really like vanilla but it lacks of some features to be a full-forum like askmehelpdesk.com. are there any other software similar to this I can use wether it is free or for sale?

    I wouldn't be able to say as I'm not sure which features you think Vanilla is missing. Perhaps if you were to be more descriptive it would help people answer your question?

    However, given that the URL that you have provided above uses <a href="http://www.vbulletin.com/">vBulletin 3.5.4</a>, I'd suggest you start your search there.

    I am just beginning to use vanilla, and at this point I am looking forward to have a sub category. A list of category at the side panel would be great also.

    Try the sub categories addon then. And maybe the category dropdown.
