    Hi all, the Format Selector ('Format comments as...') options are not visible on my Vanilla forum, even though I have the option 'Show the comment format type selector when adding comments' ticked.

    Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing? (I've looked high and low)

    I've noticed in the database that, in the user record, the DefaultFormatType is 'Text' - has this anything to do with it?

    I am very confused!

    Any help appreciated.

    More info...

    I installed the BBCodeParser extension (http://lussumo.com/addons/index.php?PostBackAction=AddOn&AddOnID=237) and now the 'Text' option is showing up, next to the BBCode options. There is no HTML option.

    Also checking/unchecking the 'Show the comment format type selector when adding comments' has no effect - the Format Selector is always visible now (although I think this could be the extension forcing it to show...).

    Ok, I'm a plonker...I was missing the HTML Formatter add-on. I thought it'd had been bundled with the latest Vanilla. Apologies

    The HTML Formatter does not appear in searches in Add-ons but can be reached here:

    It shows up in searches for me...

    Admittedly, it is the 6th down (why not first?), but it is there nonetheless.
