Whenever I try to sink, close or make a discussion sticky, I get the fatal error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /library/Vanilla/Vanilla.Functions.php on line 28
on some line in the Vanilla.Functions.php function called DiscussionPrefix. I don't know how to fix this.
For now I removed the ability of members to do any of these functions.

Thanks for any light that can be shed on this!

I just figured out that the same error happens if I bookmark a discussion, a fatal error in the DiscussionPrefix function. And of course, I can't remove the ability to do this.
    Help!

I looked at this already, the person who had this error never posted his solution.

Participated discussions is also not working. The link just takes me to the categories page. Could this be the extensions I am using? I am using the default page 1.2.5 extension, the page manager 2.5.3 and participate threads 1.3.1

yeah, that's a problem with the extensions you're using

I got the same error and never got to fix it :(
in general, support for changing the default page of the forum is missing... maybe in Vanilla 2 (pls)?

So is there another way to have the categories page be first?

Getting back to the fatal error message, are you using a theme other than the default? It may need to be updated.

I went into the database and changed 1 to 0 in the sticky, closed, sink fields so I don't get an error message. I removed the default page set to the categories page. And I am still getting errors if I bookmark a discussion and then try to go to discussions, so once the bookmark is added, I only see an error message. So the default page is not causing this?

no--but there were some changes in Vanilla on how the prefixes and suffixes were saved in the lanugage file and I believe the theme. So if you're using a custom language file this could also be the cause.

It could also mean that all the Vanilla files weren't updated--its possible the upload skipped some of them

I reuploaded the vanilla files, which didn't help.
Do all of the themes that have been around for a while have updates so they are compatible with the newest version of Vanilla?
