I don't know why I've said mainly actually. That's all I play actually. Would've started years ago but I didn't have broadband for ages and when I did get it my computer couldn't hack the latest games. Woe is me.
Whoa, I'm a BIG gamer, I'm also somewhat of a developer, have worked on some mods and some game designs of my own.
Games that I play currently are, Natural-Selection, Day Of Defeat, World of Warcraft, running my own guild, sometimes I go to CS:S and mow some people down, but it is just way too straight forward to me. Also have played some ladder matches on Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne, I play UT2k4 as a backup on my cousins clan, and ofcourse BF2, but I'm still waiting for the Special Forces to find a clan for it.
I guess that was about it that I currently play online. You can add a thousand games more offline :D
halo2! woot! but i never play anymore, since world of warcraft has devoured my soul and all of my free time.
there's a few of us around these parts that are avid LAN'ers, at which wc3 is the biggest staple (mods, like dota; never melee), but we play a few ut2k4 mods as well; assault, onslaught, and a smattering of deathmatch.
i've got BF2, and would definitely play that more, but i've no time left over!
we even setup a UT99 server for our old school peeps
im actually the CL of our clan on ClanBase and we are currently in the TAM ladder there (TAM is a totally pwnage mod btw. it stands for "TeamArenaMaster" and is basically a UT conversion of Q3s Clan Arena)

damn, last time i tried playing on a UK/IE based server, my ping was a bit unbearable unless it was ASw which doesn't require me to be planting extreme headshots. I also play FreezeDT (railgun only freezetag) in Q3 on rare occasions. Nag, when do you guys normally play ut?
ive been away for the last two weeks so i dont know the current state of play but i pretty much play every evening. there are usually a couple of people lurking around the place at any one time. if you join our irc channel (#unreal.ie) and asked if anyone wanted a game im sure you'd get a good few replies. but, in general, its in the evenings here that youll get people playing on our servers (from 7 GMT onwards usually)
we also have a TS channel btw that we use regularly
lech, im assuming that your either in the US or Canada. in which case ive no doubt that your ping would be absolute sh1te to EU servers :( Try joining one of our servers later on and see what ping ya get. barring that, if ya want a game, im sure we could come up with some server somewhere where our pings are agreable :p
mostly xbox stuff... mines hacked so only play on Xlink Kai not xboxlive. But usually forza and since I downloaded it 2 days ago... the new Rainbow Six: Lockdown.
and used to play Americas Army on pc a lot.. not so much anymore... work too much.
Xfire is kind of crap to be honest, it was better in beta and now is just a mess of an application. It's good in theory, but you can't configure the program for crap and the "themes" are just downright terrible even if you do cobble one together yourself. I reinstalled it last week and about 5 minutes after logging in, I unplugged it from the system. It's not pretty.
it was only crap coz i wasnt in your contact list if i was in it, it would totally be worth it ;p
but yeah. i dont like installing all these damn progs. im sure ill get sick of it shortly too seen as how i dont have many friends who use it. we just use irc instead plus UT has its own buddy system so theres no need (seen as how all i play is UT anyway :p ) AND i try and close as many progs as possible when im playing as my pooter isnt the greatest :(
Ehh, it's not even that, but yeah, irc + aim/msn/whatever else is equally as powerful. That and I can actually read the damn interface and it's options instead of having this fugly little duckling of a program that looks like something windows 98 barfed up off in the corner of my monitor. I really wish they would restructure the way in which the application looks. A trillian plugin would be nice as well or something.
windows 98 eh? that doesnt sound anything like what im using. i know there is a "default" theme that they have that looks like absolute sh1te ('98 style). use the xfire theme - it looks 10 times better. maybe you just havent updated it or something. the one i dl'ed is build 14819 i think
yeah, that's pretty much what i meant, the "default" theme, the xfire theme looks like shit as well. I like my applications to uniformly blend together, not have this obnoxiously themed window with wrong way facing drawers making my stuff look fugly :)
I've always been a significant console gamer, but never did get into PC gaming. Partly 'cause I just didn't like FPS and a few other popular genres too much.
Due to time issues, I actually play portable games more than anything these days; got a Nintendo DS and a Sony PSP
So about gamers and gaming, has anyone seen the new Revolution controller yet? I'm pretty excited about it and I'm fairly sure that it will rock way too much for me not to buy it.
Oh yeah, I've seen it. I'm intrigued by it. After examining it for a while, it made a lot more sense than at first glance.
Though given that the fine details of it are still subject to change, I have to wonder if they're going to put a few more face buttons on it, or other gadgets.
Gadgets like the pad extension for it they are currently planning?
Heard from various sources that Nintendo is also planning to make some light guns and such, definedly an advantage that the other consoles don't have, atleast not yet.
i was a serious gamer about a year ago - played moh, cs, and a few rts games but then my althon burnt out and i never really got round to replacing it so i was stuck on a slow pc i through together. got a new pc is the makings though so should get back into gaming more...
i'll be playing bf2 and hl2 to start with, and really looking forward to aoe3 although i've read that a lot of people are disapointed with the demo.
True Combat: Elite.... full conversion mod for RTCW Enemy Territroy.... Awesome realism tactical FPS, and the best part, 100% free (the mod and ET). Also play a little ET: Fortress. Another ET full conversion... in case you havent guessed, no, I dont like Enemy Territory, just the mods. I've about had it with the WW2 games.
Still have and play Q3A from time to time also.. Normal Q3 and Promode
not sure if anyone here has watched any of the pure pwnage vids but "Episode 8 - Lanageddon" was released just two days ago and its one of their best ones yet imo
