Hiding Discussions: In Vanilla, you cannot “delete” a discussion or comment. Instead you *hide* them from view. The difference is that if, for some reason, you need to retrieve a discussion or comment that was hidden, you can do so quite easily as an administrator. All you need to do to see hidden discussions is (a) be in a role that allows you to do so, and (b) go to your preferences and check to display hidden discussions and comments. Then you will be able to see the hidden discussions and comments in regular discussion view and “unhide” them if you choose.
Closing Discussions: This is a standard feature of most forums whereby you mark a discussion as closed. Once the discussion is closed, no-one can add comments to it unless they are in a role that has permission to do so (ie. administrators).
Making Discussions Sticky: Any “sticky” discussion will stay at the top of the discussion list no matter how old it gets.
Sinking Discussions: This is a new feature suggested by some of the Lussumo Community members. Any discussion that is marked to sink will not update it’s “last comment added” field even if new comments are added. This way the discussion will sink down the discussion list even if there are newer comments in it.
