====== Checking for Updates ====== Since version 1 of Vanilla, there has been an update checking tool that allows you to ping back to the Lussumo server and check for updates to Vanilla's core files. As of version 1.1 of Vanilla, the update checking tool has been upgraded so that it also allows you to check for updates to your installed extensions. ===== Possible Problems ===== **Extension not found** If you are checking for updates and you receive the message "Extension not found", it means that either that particular extension hasn't been uploaded to the Lussumo addons repository, or it has been labeled improperly by the author. If you know for a fact that the extension has been uploaded to the Lussumo addons repository, you can fix this problem by editing the extension's default.php file so that the name in the file matches the name on the add-ons repository. You can also contact an administrator at the community forum or the author him/herself to update the name on the add-ons site to match that in the file. **I just installed it, but it says it's not up to date. Why?** If you have just downloaded and installed an extension and it already reports that it is not up to date, it likely means that the extension author made a mistake and either didn't update the version number in your extension package, or they didn't update the version number in the add-ons site. Your options are to (a) contact the author or a community administrator and have him/her fix the problem, or (b) ignore the message. If you choose to let us know of the inconsistency, you can do so at the [[http://lussumo.com/community|community forum]].
